Sorry I’ve been MIA. I actually went out of town with a bunch of my closest girlfriends for the weekend. Awesome time, awesome memories, awesome stories – now back to the grind.
I read an article earlier today saying that basically, unless you market yourself reallllllly well as a self-published author, Self-Publishing is basically the kiss of death for your book. Apparently, one must sell a grip load of books to be remotely considered for representation. In fact, agents, publishers, etc. look at your sales as a testament to your ability to market and promote yourself.
Honestly, it was a bit disheartening to read, but at the same time a little pick-me-upper. I currently work a full-time job and marketing myself is quite difficult time-wise. However, I have and am currently working in advertising so if I need to prove myself this route, I know I can readily do so 🙂
