Palace Hills Character Interview

Character Interview

Hello, my name is S. Briones Lim and I will be your host today. I want to welcome my two very handsome guests today, Conner Hale and Finley Conrad.

Finley: Hello, ma’am

Conner: Hey

S. Briones Lim: First of all thank you for being here –

Conner: Is Nina going to be here?

*Finley looks over and raises an eyebrow*

Finley: Do you really think Nina would here?

Conner: But –

Finley: Seriously?

S. Briones Lim: Okayyyyy, this isn’t awkward at all. Let’s change the subject. Tell me about yourselves. Conner, you go first.

Conner: Um, okay. I grew up in Palace Hills. Born and bred.

S. Briones Lim: Palace Hills. Rough town.

Conner: Yeah, well you just have to keep your head on straight and you’ll be fine.

Finley: Like you were? Like Nina? Like-

Conner: You know that wasn’t my fault!

Finley: Things could have been stopped.

S. Briones Lim: Okay! Okay! How about you, Finley? Tell me about yourself.

Finley: My name is Finley. I grew up in a small town but went to college in Greystone as a business major. That’s where I met Nina.

Conner mumbles inaudibly.

S. Briones Lim: What was that Conner?

Conner: Why don’t we get to the stuff you really want to know?

S. Briones Lim: I don’t understand?

Conner: Ask us about Nina! Ask us all the juicy stuff that people like you eat up.

S. Briones Lim: People like me?

Conner: You know! The tabloid loving, get off at other people’s misery type of people.

S. Briones Lim: I’m not-

Finley: Wow! Guess what they say about Palace Hills townies is true…

Conner: And what might that be?

Finley: You guys are really rough, aren’t you? No sense of decorum or class.

Conner: **Humph** Well then, do you want me to tell you exactly what you are?!

S. Briones Lim: TELL ME ABOUT NINA! *clears throat* I mean, please tell me about this girl who seems to have you both under her spell.

Finley and Conner look at each other.

Finley: Nina is a beautiful soul, inside and out. She’s gone through a few rough times…

Conner: You can say that again…

*Finley looks at Conner and shakes his head*

Finley: But she’s a strong woman. I fell for her the first time I ever laid eyes on her large brown eyes. She’s my kindred spirit. I love her.

Conner: Nina isn’t just my kindred spirit. She’s my soul. She’s my everything. She’s my world. She’s the sunshine through my darkness……

S. Briones Lim: Are you okay, Conner?

Conner: …I love her more than my own life.

Finley: Nina is my best friend. She’s my jewel. I would do anything for her even if it means sacrificing my own happiness.

S. Briones Lim: Wow! Nina seems to be an amazing woman.

Both: She is.

Finley: And I will protect her to my last breath.

Conner: I will love her for as long as I live.

S. Briones Lim: Well, it sounds like Nina has a big decision to make. Personally, it would be hard of me to choose between either one of you. You both seem like very wonderful people.

Both: Thank you.

S. Briones Lim: Good luck to you both and thank you for your time.

Finley: It’s been my pleasure.

Conner: Time is all I’ve got.

Palace Hills. The very name struck shivers down the spine of the affluent city of Goldendale.

Unfortunately, eighteen-year-old Nina Sharman has no choice but to call the poverty-stricken neighborhood her new home.

Life seems bleak until a chance meeting with Conner Hale changes her mind and captures her heart, leading her to believe that maybe Palace Hills wasn’t so bad after all.

However, one tragic case of mistaken identity changes everything and leads to an event so horrifying that Nina believes she could never recover.

Choosing to leave Conner behind, Nina vows never to return to Palace Hills again.

Five years later, Nina has a new home, a new boyfriend and a new life. Yet, still haunted by the ghosts of her past, Nina finds she must return to Palace Hills to put an end to a nightmare, which has haunted her for years.

Upon her return, one vital slip in judgement threatens to bring the life she had worked so hard to build to come crashing down.
